AAHD and the Lakeshore Foundation are members of the ITEM (Independence Through Enhancement of Medicare and Medicaid) Coalition. On July 28, we joined the ITEM Coalition writing CMS advocating wheelchair seat elevation systems Medicare coverage. On October 8, 22 U.S. House members, led by Reps Dingell (MI) and Fitzpatrick (PA), wrote CMS supporting this coverage.
