Now Hiring: Project Coordinator


The American Association on Health and Disability (AAHD) is a cross disability national non-profit 501(c) (3) organization dedicated to ensuring health equity for children and adults with disabilities.  AAHD accomplishes its mission through research, education, policy and public awareness efforts at the federal, state and community level.  AAHD strives to reduce health disparities in people with disabilities, advocate for full community inclusion and accessibility.  The official journal of AAHD is the Disability and Health Journal.

The American Association on Health and Disability (AAHD) is recruiting a contractor to serve as a Project Coordinator for a current evaluation project at AAHD. Based on current funding and needs, a project coordinator is needed with an anticipated start date of January 6, 2025 through July 31, 2025. Presently, there are no plans for this position to extend beyond July 2025. The Project Coordinator will report directly to the Principal Investigator (PI) and Director of the project (Anjali J. Forber-Pratt).

Project tasks will include the following:

  • The Project Coordinator will support the implementation of program activities and milestones associated with the research and evaluation projects.
  • The Project Coordinator will assist the PI in developing agendas for internal project team meetings. The Project Coordinator will also maintain the calendar invites for these meetings.
  • The Project Coordinator will assist the PI in setting up external interviews related to the research and evaluation project.
  • The Project Coordinator will assist the PI in developing agendas for check-in calls with external funders.
  • The Project Coordinator will assist the PI in developing the monthly project reports
  • The Project Coordinator will be responsible for distributing surveys and tracking completion rates, scheduling interviews and subject matter experts; attending interviews and synthesizing discussions.
  • The Project Associate will perform other administrative tasks including but not limited to meeting facilitation, metrics reporting, and other evaluation activities.
  • The Project Coordinator will provide support for the full evaluation team with evaluation planning and data analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requisite Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field required (i.e., disability studies, rehabilitation, public health, communications). Advanced degree, such as MPH, preferred.
  • At least 2 years’ experience of relevant work.
  • Understanding of disability justice principles is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office, social media applications, Zoom, Adobe Acrobat, survey tools and other applicable software. Knowledge of MAXQDA analysis software preferred but not required.
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral communication.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Understanding of Project Management Principles and project implementation experience.

The contracted position will be remote and will be compensated at a contract rate of $40-45/hour with a commitment to 37.5 hours per week.
