This brief report presents an overview of the third biannual National Multicultural Conference and Summit held in Hollywood, CA, highlighting the experiences of one of your representatives. The conference title was “The Psychology of Race/Ethnicity, Gender, Sexual Orientation, and Disability: Celebrating our Children, Families and Seniors”. One keynote was given by Dr. Martha Banks, The Society for the Psychology of Women. Her discussion on Disability in the Family, a Lifespan Perspective, compared different cultures’ and countries’ management of severe and disabling conditions from infancy through advanced age. She made the case for the interactions between culture and support for families with members with disabilities.
