In 2007, CDC, NCBDDD, D & H funded sixteen states to work on six different initiatives. The six initiatives are 1) Evidenced Based Intervention 2) Wellness through Access, Health Promotion and Health Communications 3) Emergency Preparedness 4) Livable Communities/Universal Design 4) Training Professionals and Paraprofessionals 6) Supplemental Surveillance
The states are funded for five years. The sixteen funded states are Arkansas, California, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina, Virginia. The sixteen states were funded to work specifically in one or more of the six modules listed above. All of the states received Core Funding to work on building overall capacity within their states.
